Terms of Use.

StoryKix is an interactive fiction service operated by Shah Corporation Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 08117456, registered office: Irish Square, Upper Denbigh Road, St Asaph, Denbighshire, LL17 0RN), trading as Awakened Media ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Storykix delivers serialised fiction, which may include text, imagery, audio, and music. Stories are released as short chapters. All content is entertainment only and is a work of fiction: it is not factual, predictive, professional advice, or representative of any real person, event, or place.

You may use the service only for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not scrape, reproduce, redistribute, or republish any story or other content from the service without our prior written permission.

Accounts

You are responsible for your account, your sign-in credentials, and any activity that takes place through it. We may suspend or close any account at our sole discretion, at any time, without notice or reason.

You must be at least 18 years old to use StoryKix.

Cost

Storykix is free to use. Every story and every chapter is available at no charge. We do not sell credits, passes, or subscriptions, and we do not take payment for access to the service.

The service was previously offered on a paid basis using credits, one-off purchases, and subscriptions. Those offerings have been withdrawn and nothing further can be purchased. Any credits remaining on an account have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, and are not refundable, exchangeable, or transferable, in line with the terms that applied when they were granted or bought. Where you hold a subscription bought through a third-party app store, it is managed and cancelled through that store; see Third parties below. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

We may introduce paid features in the future. If we do, the terms and price will be shown before you are asked to pay for anything, and nothing you can access free today becomes chargeable without notice.

No guarantees

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, including (without limitation) any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, uninterrupted operation, or that any particular feature will continue to exist.

We may change, pause, limit, withdraw, restrict, or discontinue any part of the service — including any specific story, feature, or your access to it — at any time, for any reason, without notice and without liability.

User conduct

You agree not to: (a) attempt to circumvent the signup gate or any technical limit; (b) use the service to request or distribute illegal, harmful, defamatory, or infringing content; (c) reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying software, configurations, or creative logic of the service; (d) use automated tools, bots, or scrapers against the service.

Breach of any of the above entitles us to suspend or close your account.

Intellectual property

All software, design, story configurations, characters, creative logic, and any reusable creative material underlying the service are the intellectual property of Shah Corporation Limited. All content delivered to you, including stories and chapters, is provided for personal enjoyment only. You do not acquire ownership, copyright, or any commercial rights in any of it, and no interaction on your part gives you any authorship, co-authorship, or other right in the content produced.

Third parties

The service uses third-party providers (including content and infrastructure providers, hosting, analytics, and email delivery). Where you previously bought a subscription through a third-party app store or platform (such as the Apple App Store), that purchase was processed by, and remains subject to the terms of, that store, and any cancellation, refund, or billing enquiry for it is handled by that store rather than by us. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, or availability of any third party. Sign-in via Google, Apple, or other providers is subject to their own terms.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shah Corporation Limited, its officers, employees, contributors, and licensors accept no liability whatsoever for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage — including loss of data, loss of access, loss of enjoyment, distress, or any commercial loss — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims is limited to the lesser of: (a) the amount you paid us in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £20 (or its equivalent in the currency you paid in).

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You use the service entirely at your own risk.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shah Corporation Limited against any claim, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice where reasonably practicable. The current version is the version published on this page. Continued use of the service after any change constitutes acceptance.
